Slacken the nut and bolt; separate the joint and remove one inner flange ring.

Start inner flange ring by inserting duct end into flange pocket, at the break in the flange ring.

Seat flange permanently by tapping face of flange with mallet, so that the leading edge of duct is seated in pocket of flange within sealant.

Hold flange in position by using Spiralmate Alignment Grips approximately 100mm from the break.
Begin securing the leg of the flange onto the duct section by chosen method of fixing - spot weld, pop rivet etc.

The fastener should be placed within 12mm of the break in the Flange Ring and between 19mm and 25mm from the front face of the Flange Ring.

Continuing in one direction around the duct, with the chosen method of fixing at evenly spaced intervals as noted below. Place last fastner within 12mm of the end of the flange ring.
For all pressure classes fastenings are required at 200mm max centres for duct diam 300 - 450mm and 300mm max centres for duct diam 500mm and above.
