Ductmate Fire Resistant Tab Access Doors meet the requirement of B&ES DW/144 Second Edition 2013 regarding air leakage criteria. These doors have been included in Fire Duct tests for fire resistance in accordance with BS 476 Part 24:1987, and have been assessed by the BRE Centre for Fire Resistance, as suitable for incorporation into a fire resistant ductwork system for periods of up to 2 hours Stability & Integrity.

You must ensure that: –

  • The correct access door has been selected for the type of fire resistant duct into which it is to be fitted
  • Installation of the access door will not affect the stability or integrity of the duct system
  • When installed, every 4th tab must be mechanically secured to the host duct with steel fixings
  • A bead of FFC intumescent sealant should be applied around the frame to duct joint
  • All cam lock fixings are left in closed position
